The cheetah is the fastest land animal on earth and can reach up to speeds of 112kph. Their body is perfectly designed for sprinting over short distances. They have a large heart and large lungs to help them spread oxygen around the body in full speed. Their prey is also very fast and can easily doge and change direction quickly so the cheetahs long tail acts like a rudder and helps the cheetah catch up to its fast prey during the hunt. A cheetah can only run for around a minute if they go any longer they will overheat and could suffer brain damage. Since the cheetah is so dedicated to sprinting they are weak and powerless against larger predators like lions, leopards or even hyenas and whenever they come past and steal the cheetah's prey the poor creature has nothing else to do, but run.

- Cheetahs have been known to swim, but they do not like too.
- Long ago people from the Middle East used to use the cheetah as a hunting tool.
- The Asiatic cheetah was hunted near extinction because of European royalty. They saw the cheetah pelt as a symbol of wealth and was proudly worn and only 200 of them left.
- In the 1900 the cheetah was estimated to have a population over 100 000 cheetah, but now they think there's only 9000-1200 left.

The king cheetah is not a subspecies of cheetah, but a cheetah with a different fur pattern. This is because both parents of a king cheetah would need to have that stripy pattern in their genes or there wont be a king cheetah cub.
